Queen Isabella II
February and March 1863
1-Real
Gooding #18F1 Colour is rather a dark greyish-green. The design is cruder and
less distinct than the original. The dotted circles are very indistinct. Half
of each ornament on the right next to the circle is omitted, while in the
original there are four full ornaments on the right side. Exists with bogus
Manila-Star and Parrilla cancellations. Largest
Known multiple: Used horizontal pair (Nigel Gooding Collection). Gooding #18F2 Very crude forgery in deep green. 'CORREOS' and value on bottom
are lightly printed and broken (hardly distinguishable). The hair is lightly
shaded with a lot of lines missing. The markings above the eye are not as
filled as in the genuine stamp. Only one stamp known affixed to bogus cover with
forged cancellations. |
